Note: Some people ask how the Camp Toucan area compares with places on the west coast of Mexico, such as Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta (also shown on the map above). Those places have a more desert climate, the beaches have more gravel, and the ocean is darker and colder. At Camp Toucan, the climate is tropical, the beaches are soft and white (they are made of white coral particles that are cool on your feet), and the sea is beautiful shades of turquoise. The water is as warm as a swimming pool, and the exotic reef is teeming with fish and sea creatures, so this is a great place to kayak, snorkel, sail, kitesurf, windsurf, mountain bike, and more. In addition, Camp Toucan is surrounded by ancient pyramids, jungle pools, and Mayan villages, none of which you will find on the west coast. Also, the Mayan people (including Camp Toucan guides) are, you could say, more relational. They want you to enjoy their beautiful, unique, ancient homeland.
Camp Toucan . . . More fun, naturally!
