JUNGLE POOLS
Tropical ferns and flowers grow above and around the clear waters of the many jungle pools in the area, called cenotes after the ancient Mayan word for them. These pools are beautiful for swimming and exploring. Some extend into caves. Camp Toucan guides will show you the way to these mysterious and exotic places, by vehicle or mountain bike as you prefer.
A small dock among the foliage at the edge of a jungle pool, so you can dive into the clear water, then get back out easily when you are ready.
The streams in Yucatan flow mostly underground, through limestone. Their waters trickle through the jungle pools, bringing a constant supply of fresh, clear water.
